Guest guest
I have been researching law schools to attend and focusing on those that offer veterans legal clinics. In addition to Univ. of Detroit Mercy's veterans clinic, here are additional clinics: Widener Univ. in burg PA and Wilmington DE Mason Univ. in Arlinton, VA Regis University in Virginia Beach, VA Univ. of San Diego in San Diego, CA Marshall School of Law in Chicago, IL As I find more, I will post them. Some law schools have disability clinics that are for anyone needing help who is disabled. Syracuse University has a disability clinic. Many law schools offer a variety of public legal clinics. Law students supervised by a professor are there to help you in exchange for class credit. It's not rocket science. You just have to be able to interpret the VA laws, fill out the forms and play the game. We did it successfully and we are certainly not lawyers. So why not give them a chance to help. Don't live in these states? Go to the nearest law school and just ask. All they can say is no, we can't help with that. But they may be able to. Univ. of Detroit's mobile legal clinic saw a need after many veterans asked for help while they were conducting other legal clinics around Michigan. So they started a mobile veterans clinic to meet these needs. If more people ask for help, perhaps more law schools will start veterans clinics. If you know of anymore law schools offering veterans legal clinics, let me know as I am starting to apply to these law schools in December. > > Very, very sorry everyone, I just got clarification that the help provided from the law students in Detroit is centered on Michigan veterans' only. Once again - very sorry for any confusion. > > > > > > Randi J.
