Guest guest
I personally like to think that rude people don't deserve and answer or, my recognition to their stares. I just go about my business. I know that Alyssa's a very special person who is also beautiful. When she was born my father said she is absolutely the most beautiful and perfectly proportioned baby hes ever seen. And I have 2 older children! We don't particularly care what other people think and have learnt not to notice the extra attention unless they are rude and then I'm quick to put them in their place. This has taken me a few months to learn how to handle different situations, but I think I've got it sussed. For now anyhow. I have also experienced all the stares, comments and also compliments when out and about with Alyssa. Once a lady was saying Hello to Alyssa in her Pram, and said what beautiful eyes you have, then walked away with a smile! What a wonderful person she must be! I was raised not to stare at people different from oneself, and never do. It's a shame there aren't more people in the world that appreciate others with all their differences. Children are quite a different story. They are so curious and ask lots of questions in discovering someone with eyes different to their own. I like to remind them that everyone is different, and in Alyssa's case it is her eyes then they go away quite happy. I would love to hear from some of the adults in the group and how they achieved good self esteem growing up, and how you handled the 'rude' people. Thanks oh okay....I never got that he looked like downs when he was new born...may-be now I think people are thinking that!....The steers are what really get to me ha!....people are so rude...I know when someone doesn't look quite the same as the average joe...we all steer...but when its your baby, it hurts:(...People look at him in his stroller, then look straight up at me and my husband and son...I see it ALL the time!....I got a comment from a little boy...he asked if he was blind!...and said he looked funny! I didn't appreciate it I will tell you!...but then I get a real nice comment like a lady the other day...ethan was smiling at her, with his beautiful HUGE smile, and she said *look at that big beautiful smile*...I said he has a huge smile! she said the kind that makes your eyes water:)....isn't that just so nice!...thats makes my day, afetr he has been steered at so much...
