Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Pam here....I was wondering where did you take your to get a dx? My twins have an appointment at the new DS clinic at Vandy the end of this month. I hope to get dx there or maybe they can point me in the right direction. By the way what are your parents names, maybe I know them. You can e-mail me privatley and we can exchnage phone #'s if you want to. Dawn, they passed a law here in this school district that if want your child to attend another school and it's not your " home school " , you can get a transfer. However, with the special ed classes, that is a little more difficult as they only have two really good schools that they shuffle the " special ones " to here in the district. If I wanted to attend our home school, which would be impossible, since they don't allow them one on one and I don't know anyone who's totally inclusive in all classes. Anyway, since your child is only going to be in kindergarden next year, I would think twice since you say you don't like what they do in class and you must have your child attend that school. Maybe by the following year, there will have been some changes made and then your child can attend. What exactly is going on that you have heard that they yell at the kids? Maybe you can band together with other parents who've heard the same thing and demand another school/class/whatever? Keep us posted.

Guest guest
Ok, guilty, I say I did, but the biggie reason too, are the meds. Yuck! I'm slowly weaning them off. Today without the strong meds and taking over the counter meds, I'm feeling a little better. I'll take the prescribed meds as needed, but yuck, they keep me blah! Last night was the worse. Just the thought of what I'm going through, definitely will not put through meds, as I felt like a zombie. Ok, this is not for all kids, just my Stevie, as others do need them. Boy! Am I resting alot, but I guess this is just me, pretty stubborn, hardheaded as my dh had mentioned and I guess it just runs in my genes. Say, my sisters have told me the same, ok, this is scary, I guess through cyberland, you've gotten to know me, hee hee. Doc said normally alot of his patients returned to work by today. I say I don't want to feel whimpy and I just wanted to do the things I wanted to. I guess I should take advantage of my time off. My dh went back to work today, so this is a test to see if I could do it on my own, attending to it slowly. I believe our kids may not show it but they are listening or paying attention in there own way. Never underestimate , he is listening, just finding out what works, all in due time you'll see. Just break it down, step by step and reminding, he'll come around. The good thing about being on this list is that you're not alone and glad everyone is caring in sharing on what to look forward to, for the younger ones. I know I should not look back when was younger because I'm happy just knowing that we are in this together, no matter what. Hope I made some sense, ok, better get some rest, later. Hugs. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, I needed that bolt to affirm my feelings regarding stress reducers. Zeb's anxiety levels are almost beyond control at this point. I just hadn't realized how much. He is with me everyday so you just go with the flow. My daughter took him over to my friends yesterday. She hadn't seen him in months. She called yesterday and asked what is going on. She was stunned how nervous he was and has known him since birth. The entire situation is just out of control. We have dr's appts to possible have him reevaluated. I will have to see how it goes. As far as DCF, they are coming over today. I am not really concerned and they can walk in and out of my house anytime, everybody else does. I don't anticipate a problem. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 9 DS/OCD ?
