Guest guest
Well, Garrett's surgery went well. We got there earlier and there had been a cancellation so they were actually ready for him when we got there, but since the nurse and the anesthesiologist (sp?) had to go throught there stuff first he didn't go back unil his scheduled time of 10:30. The surgeon called to talk to us at 12 and said everything went well, but he has to stay very calm and quiet. He said he has to stay out of school for at least 2 wks, not just 1 wk like he orginally had said. He said that it's alot tighter than normal because of the severity of the disorder so that's why he'll have to stay out longer than expected. At about 12:45 they called us to come to recovery and when we got back there he was sitting up already dressed and throwing a fit. He had a hard time coming out and was tossing and turning and trying to rub his eyes. There were 2 nurses back there, one holding his arms the other trying to get his iv out. He tried getting out of the bed because he was ready to go home. I picked him up and put him in the rocking chair with me and he got sick all over me. After that he was fine and fell asleep. We were only in recovery for about 10 mins. then they let us leave. As soon as we got him in the car he got sick again, then fell asleep. He's now sound asleep on the couch.
