Guest guest
I joined this group a long time ago but I think this is my first post. I have DDD at multiple levels and also spinal stenosis. I had a morphine pump implant for 3 1/2 years which I had to have removed last March because of a granuloma at the tip of the catheter. This has left me with chronic numbness and shooting, burning pain in my right leg. Last fall a neurologist who did a nerve conduction test said he thinks I have arachnoiditis. He said he didn't think the SCS was a good idea. The two neurosurgeons who are doing the implant have assured me that I will be fine and that this is the best treatment option I have. I did have the trial last fall and I got some relief with it but the neurologist who advised against it said that the actual surgery for the implant can make those nerves more " sticky " and cause them to " clump " . If anyone on this board has AA and has a stimulator, could you please let me know how it is working for you. After the complications I had from the morphine pump, I want to be sure I am making the right decision. I just feel like I'm at the point where doing nothing and living like this is not an option. I want to be active again. Thanks, Glenna/pa
