Guest guest
Jinny Welcome to the group. My name is Sue. I am one of the moderators of this wonderful group. I have 2 Boston Scientic (Advanced Bionics) stimulators. The lumbar one was implanted in 2004 and the cervical one was implanted in 2005. The stimulator is not a cure, but has helped me tremendously. The life of the battery might depend on how high of an intensity you keep it set on. The higher the intensity, the shorter the lifeĀ of the battery. I was also told 5-7 yrs, but hopefully longer, but the intensity will affect the life of the battery. I keep my lumbar set at a higher intensity than my cervical one. It's possible that you might need an adjustment. It's possible that you might need more leads, or another stimulator. Are you on any other medication that could control the pain besides pain killers. There are other meds that can control pain besides pain killers. I also have a pain pump, so I don't take pain pills, unless I have a flare-up with horrific pain. I also have RSD. If you have any questions or need any information, please feel free to contact us. Sue C Moderator
