Guest guest
My hubby has been bedridden until he got the scs. The rep told him to walk twice a day. Today he walked around the block, this may not sound like much but it is like a miracle. He said he slept better than he has in a year. He is a new man! Unfortunately they said it would be two months before the permanent one can be installed. I am ready to travel someplace where they can do it sooner. Because I know he will be back in bed when they take out the temp. This has given me so much hope for my own back and leg problems. I am sick of my left foot pounding due to the nerves. When I walk around the block it is a major feat. I take the dog and keep on stopping. I'm not much on writing on here but I take everything to heart that is on here. I felt hopeless and when I found this group I felt maybe something can help me after all. I go Tuesdy about my scs and hopefully it will not take long to get an appointment to have it put in. I am getting the brace for my left foot because I have drop foot and when I walk it is not a pleasant sight. Especially staggering and falling down. I have a cane with the US flag all over it, I ordered it special. I have to use it right now, I do not like it, but if it can get me out of the house I am going. Thanks to everyone on here that I knew what to tell my hubby that would encourage him to try the scs. I got put on depression pills and it seems to help. I was to the point I did not want to do anything and my future looked horrendous. Now I am hopeful. Thanks once again.
Guest guest
Diane, I'm so happy to hear your hubby trial is going so good. I remember that first walk very well.. It may not sound like much ,, but I know how it feels... I also had to wait a couple months before I got my perm.. I did not want them to take out the temp.. I felt like my life was given back then they took it from me again.. Now I do have my life back and I have never regretted it at all..Hopefully they will find someone to do it sooner.. I wish you all the best with your trial next week.. Hopefully you will get the relief like your husband has. My neighbor has drop foot... It is both of her feet. she doesn't walk at all now.She says its not painful just a pain not being able to walk.. Hopefully the brace will stop yours from getting real bad.. Diane,, we are all here for you and your husband.. Please,, if you ever need to talk please feel free to call me... My home phone is 419-586-2059 and cell 419-302-7064.. I know how the pain can cause us to be so depressed,, Keep your head up and know that your trial is coming soon.. Relief for you both are just around the corner... I will keep both of you in my prayers... soft hugs T group moderator lisa From: Diane <dper2000@...> Subject: My hubby Stimulator Date: Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 7:09 PM My hubby has been bedridden until he got the scs.
