Hi,

I'm new to the list.

I'm a type O breast cancer survivor currently " NED " (no evidence of

disease), and I'd like to stay that way. Yet between my onc's injunction

to eat a balanced diet and the media injunctions against meat and dairy

protein when it comes to avoiding cancer, I'm having a hard time deciding

what to eat.

I also take a lot of digestive enzymes and other supplements, mostly bec.

of the cancer. Could the supplements be responsible for my current

inability to lose weight?

I put on 20 pounds when I started eating an anticancer (read

almost-all-vegan) diet. I didn't feel good on it. I was hungry all the

time. I feel much better eating " MEVY " -- meat, eggs, vegetables, and

(some plain) yoghurt. (I also have candida).

Why am I not losing weight?

Does anyone know if soy is good or bad for O's with cancer? I know it's bad

for O's, but it's supposed to be good against cancer cells. I wrote to

Dr.D., but he never answered.

Thanks for your input.

Re: Platlets

My average platlets count for the last three years has been 77,000.

Therapy for Hep C is considered out of the question due to the fact that

it lowers platelet count even lower.

During my last bout with varcies the doctor told me that if it dropped

below 50,000 that they woul have to transfuse platelets into my blood.

Re: Milk Thistle

I have been on milk thistle for the past three years. I do know it is

presribed in parts of europe (i.e. Germany). All I know is I am still

alive and functioning despite cirrhosis and late stge liver disease.

Hi Dalia

I have Bleph & I am 25, live in the UK. I really thought that the USA would

be different in terms of fitting in, not being stared at etc.

I have had 13 operations on my eyes - but they still look different & I'm

very aware of people commenting etc.

It's the fertility aspect that has upset me. i was diagnosed with Ovarian

Failure 2 yrs ago. We've had on go at Egg Donation which ended in

miscarriage. We are about to embark on the 2nd. I have had 7 miscs the

furthest being5 months.

I am the only person in my family with BPES, so they really dont understand.

Hope you're feeling a bit happier about u're self after your ops.

Keep in touch
