Guest guest
hey nikki! I ALSO HAVE RSD...NOW FOR 25 YEARS. I TRIED LYRICA AND IT GAVE ME HORRIBLE HEADACHES AND FAINTING SPELLS. I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE HELL THAT YOU WENT THROUGH WITH IT. YOU SAID THAT THE STIM HELPS YOU OUT WITH THE RSD...THAT IS GREAT! I HAVE HAD 2 STIMS PLACED...AND NOTHING YET...NO HELP, BUT I AM GOING TO HAVE 2 MORE LEADS ADDED WHEN I GET THE BATTERY CHANGED. I WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK AND PAIN FREE DAYS! AS FOR YOU AND ANY RSD PATIENT...I AM ALWAYS HERE FOR A SHOULDER....AS I REALLY DO UNDERSTAND RSD...AS FOR ANY OTHER PAIN PATIENT...OF COURSE THE SHOULDER IS THERE FOR YOU TOO...I AM JUST NOT AS INFORMED ON OTHER PAIN ISSUES AS RSD. HANG IN AND GOD BLESS. KATHY G. **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars. Guest guest
HEY JARON! SO GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU HAVE A GOOD PM DR!!! I TRULY BELEIVE THAT THIS IS THE KEY IN BEING ABLE TO LIVE WITH THE PAIN. YOU ARE ON SOME OF THE MEDS THAT I USED TO TAKE IN MY PUMP...WHICH I HAD TO HAVE REMOVED DUE TO MAJOR MALFUNCTIONS. I HAVE SEVERE SPASMS FROM THE RSD...AND THE BACLOFEN IN THE PUMP WAS THE ONLY THING THAT TOOK THEM AWAY....NOW THAT THE DAMNED PUMP IS OUT...I CAN ONLY TAKE IT ORALLY....HOW MUCH DO YOU TAKE TO NOTICE A DIFFERENCE? I USED A HECK OF ALOT IN MY PUMP...SOMETIMES THE SPASMS WERE SO BAD THAT I HAD TO GO INTO THE HOSPITAL AND THEY WOULD GIVE ME KETAMINE JUST TO STOP THEM. THANKS, JARON. HANG IN AND GOD BLESS. Guest guest
Hi Mike, I also am on the Fentanyal and Vocodin 6 x ady for break through pain,Cymbalta and Topamax for nerve pain Baclofen for muscle cramps. I did have the SCS had it removed last week when it stopped working waiting for approval of the Pain Pump inplant as of of 6/27/2008. have been on Methodone, Morphine, Neurontin ,Lyrica I can not take anything in the Perocet family I am allergic to it throat closes can't breath. This is my second pain doctor the first one I had ask me what I expected of myself I said I would like to be pain free and try to be as normal as possiable and he said why aren't you my husband asked him what he was going to do he said nothing he said she needs to help herself before I can help her, we got up and walked out. The doctor I have now is great he understands that the pain I have is not because I don't want to help myself it is because I am in pain. The best thing you can do is have a doctor that you can talk to and one that understands you and what you are going through. Keep on Smiling Kathy > > Someone ask what We take for pain control. I personally take Duregisic > patch that is Fentaynl then for breakthru I take oxycodone 5mg 2x day > I also take lyrica which helps me with nerve pain. I have had the > same pain managent doctor since 2000. If you need to find a Doctor to > treat your pain. then a pain managemt doctor is what you want. If you can back it up through films xrays mri and if a Doctor knows you have a Stimulator 9 out of 10 times a pain doctor saw that you went the extra mile to get pain reilef. I only get so much pain relief with my Stimulator it doesnt take all the pain away. I be in cloud nine if it did. now with stimulator and pain medicine I am very well controlled. Today went to pick up my Duregisic patches they try to give me the generic I cant keep that one on me three days. I can only use name brand. my doctor always writes brand only except this time. I did get the brand but after the hassle. mike group owner

Guest guest
HEY LISA! MY NAME IS KATHY G. I ALSO HAVE RSD. I AM SO HAPPY TO HEAR THAT THE LYRICA IS HELPING CONTROL BOTH YOUR RSD AND FIBRO PAIN!! CAN YOU HELP ME WITH SOMETHING? YOU SAID THAT YOUR FRIEND HAD SEIZURES FROM THE LYRICA WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL. DO YOU KNOW IF SHE HAD A SEIZURE DISORDER TO START OUT WITH...OR NEVER HAD A SEIZURE BEFORE TAKING THE MED. AND WHEN SHE STOPPED THE LYRICA DID THE SEIZURES GO AWAY FOR GOOD? THE REASON THAT I AM ASKING IS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO TRY IT ONCE MORE TO SEE IF IT WILL HELP...I AN HEARING SO MANY PEOPLE SAY HOW GREAT IT IS HELPING THEIR RSD....AND I HAD SEIZURES WHEN I WAS YOUNGER FROM AN ACCIDENT (I HAD A HEAD INJURY) I NO LONGER HAVE SEIZURES AND WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT THAT WAY....BUT AS YOU KNOW THE PAIN OF RSD IS SO BAD THAT I WANT TO TRY IT AGAIN TO SEE IF IT WOULD HELP. IT DIDN'T HELP THE FIRST TIME. THANKS SO MUCH, LISA! GENTLE HUGS, KATHY G. **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I take 4 - 10mg pills a day. I also have to take the tizanidine for spasms, but without the baclofen they're worse. I'm extremely tired from the medicine all the time though... Jaron > > HEY JARON! > > SO GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU HAVE A GOOD PM DR!!! Guest guest
HEY JARON! I AM SORRY TO HEAR THAT THE MEDS MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A ZOMBY. I KNOW THAT THIS IS FRUSTRATING...ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CAN'T SLEEP FROM THE PAIN TO BEGIN WITH...YOU ALREADY FEEL LIKE THE WALKING DEAD SOMETIMES. HANG IN AND PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. GENTLE HUGS, KATHY G. **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars. Guest guest
Hi all, Seems like everyone here is on quite the med cocktails as my dr likes to call it....my primary handles all of my scripts for me even though I have a PM as well...after my PM makes a change and it is one that is going to stay on my list my primary takes over just so I only have one dr handling my meds - just makes it easier for me....I am currently taking Oxy IR 30 mgs 4X, Soma (muscle relaxant) 4X, Ativan 1mg at night to sleep and can take two if I am having a bad night.... I have tried a lot of the other meds that others have mentioned but had a lot of problems with most of them....tried Lyrica, neurontin, cymbalta, baclofen, luvox, pamelor and of course almost every NSAID there is out there to name a few......over the yrs I have been a medication guinea pig at the pain clinic - every 3-4 yrs they have me try again in the hopes of finding something new that might help. MANY of them were nightmares to be on but I gave them a decent try so that they could not say that I did not do everything possible to get my pain levels under control. I am sure most of us here have been down this road.... C.
