Hello Group!

I have had the SCS implant for a little over two years now. I can't

strees it enough, follow the Dr. directions so the leads don't

migrate. You just have to be careful for 6 to 8 weeks. I have 16

contacts implanted, 8 on each wire. For me the surgery was a piece

of cake compared to the other surgeries. I would highly recommend

the rechargable model(Medtronics). The non-rechargable battery

lasted me about 6 months and had to have it replaced. The stimulator

has really helped me cope with the pain and like I have read on this

list today, the pain level went from a 9/10 to a tolerable 4/5.

nne, the movement as you discribed sounds like you might be able

to get some re-programming done by the device rep so they can find

the right combination of leads that fits your needs. Don't be

affraid of being the squeaky wheel, they got paid alot of money for

that implant.

Everyone, if you are given the opportunity to have the trial, give it

a try. It will only be for 3 or 4 days. (I didn't want the Dr. to

take it out) When you have the implant, be sure to wear a bar of soap

to find out where you want the battery pack installed. I have mine

front lower right side below the rib cage.

Best of luck to everyone, and lets' keep the list going. If you have

any questions you would like to ask off the list, send me an email

and I'll get back to you.

Mike, I would be more than happy to help you with the list, just need

instruction!

Tom,

I have never heard the soap thing before. Why exactly are u wearing a bar of it

and how exactly do u wear a bar of soap.

I agree with u on rechargeable, otherwise you just have to keep going back for

extra surgery you don't really need, its hard enough as is, why add more

problems.......
