Civil Rights Division Nominee

Grace Chung Becker has been nominated to be assistant attorney general of the

Justice

Department Civil Rights Division. This division is responsible for protecting

the rights of

minority groups, including those with disabilities. Sadly, Ms. Becker appears to

just another

example of someone nominated because of their politics rather than expertise and

appropriateness for the position. She has signed a brief supporting Indiana's

voter ID law and

refused to answer several key questions last week during her confirmation

hearing.
