Guest guest
Ms. Cronin, Thank you so much for your time this week, and it could not be a more perfect topic for our family: After over a year of " fighting, " and the eventual involvement of our State Representative, the Illinois DHS has finally approved my two sons for " eligibility " for the Children's Waiver. Now, I suppose we start the long wait for actual support. My question is relating to what we can do with that " money " once it finally gets to us - we have an intense home-based therapy program (RDI), that costs us a lot each month for two boys, AND we would like to add some RDI extenders to our sons' days, AND my husband and I could really use some respite, even if just once a month or so. Our " service provider " that was identified in the application process was " Clearbrook " , and we met with them a year ago as we established our service plan for our two applications for our sons. Will all of the Waiver funds go to Clearbrook automatically, or will we be able to choose some Clearbrook services and apply some to our RDI program/expenses? I know that this question is a bit premature - I understand that we could wait up to 6-months or more for actual funding, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pose the question to you. Thanks again for your time,
