Melinda,

I have had lots of experience with it over the past ten years or so. Current recommended dosage is 4.5 mg in the evening. Theoretically it works best with pancreatic cancer as pancreatic cancer has the greatest number of opioid receptors, but pancreatic cancer moves so fast and naltrexone is so slow that it is not the best fit. Usually you have to add IV metenkephalin for pancreatic cancer in order to get a bite on it.

I like naltrexone for ovarian and colon cancers, and for any of the lymphoproliferative cancers. Naltrexone requires patience. It usually takes about six months before you see results with prostate cancer. But at least it is cheap and it is easy enough to reformulate yourself from 50mg tablets. A confounding issue with its use is pain control. It does not make sense to use analgesics that can block the same receptors.

Does anyone have any experience using this? Any thoughts? I have heard some interesting things about this lately.

Thanks,

Melinda

Do you have info on Dr. Stowe and his use of it along with vaccines created from ones urine?

Thanks, Melinda

Below is a list of some types of cancer that are expected to respond to low-dose naltrexone:

Cancer of the small intestine

Ovarian cancer

Rectal cancer

Pancreatic cancer

Malignant melanoma

Prostate cancer

Cancer of some of the endocrine glands

Lymphoma (Hodgkin's and Non-Hodkin's)

Multiple myeloma

Lympocytic leukemia

I would not expect benefit for small cell nor non-small cell carcinoma of the lung.

,

I'd appreciate knowing what the results are that you have seen naltrexone have on prostate cancer. The patieance required would be no issue.

What would the side effects be of using this treatment. What would be good to combine with this approach?

The following four items are what was recommended by someone for prostate cancer. Any thoughts?

Cstatin

Pro Boost

M Kind (anyone know what this is?)

Naltroxene

Thanks,

Melinda

Melinda,

There are no side effects from the use of such small doses of Naltrexone. It is safe enough and cheap enough to use with any and all cancer patients -- unless they are using narcotics and in that case they simply would not help.
