Guest guest
Miseltoe, I think in your enthusiasm for the "rational" you are peremptorily discarding what sounds strange but has a very long accepted scientific pedegree. Specifically COFFEE ENEMAS one of the most highly ridiculed and seemingly WEIRD ideas promoted by what you might call unscientific sources. In this case the Merck Manual of Therapies used to list COFFEE ENEMAS up until the 1977 edition. NOT really that long ago, but coincidentally shortly after the National Coalition Against Health Fraud, also known as quackbusters began to come upon the scene. It is NOW part of the -Kelley therapy for pancreatic cancer underwritten by the National Cancer Institute with a $1.4 million dollar grant given to study this therapy. It might help if you were a little more open to the scientific validiy of many of these seemingly weird therapies. The propaganda of their opponents has unfortunately made it more difficult for many easily confused consumers afraid of being taken in by con artists to the point where they lose their evaluative powers. Arnold Gore Consumers Health Freedom Coalition Re: Beware the Peddler INDEED MsLToe, This list has many people whose health views more closely proximate those of religion than science. I don't have a problem with that as most people are not to be dissuaded from their religion. What these realms of thinking have in common though is that there are always hustlers quick to separate the unwary from their money. The most dangerous are the true-believing hustlers -- whether they are promoting chemo or the latest alternative fad cure. These people can be quite convincing. You can almost believe that they are doing their proselytizing for the good of humanity, but for one fact : all the BS products, whether they are conventional or alternative, are priced exactly at the point before diminishing returns. It is all about cold-blooded marketing. Hulda's theories are really quite far-fetched, but she does make some suggestions that many have found to be helpful. I personally know of people who have benefitted from her advice, but I get really mad reading her pontificating books as she provides absolutely no scientific support or documentation for theories that are presented a fact. Welcome to the list, MsLToe. This has got the be the most LUDICROUS thing I have ever heard. Can someone explain to me how BRAIN TUMORS (i.e., what started this thread - cancer of the highly malignant rhabdoid variety) can even possibly be misconstrued to equal TAPE WORM EGGS IN A SACK? Do people actually buy into wacked-out garbage like that? If so, that old saying must have been right...there IS a sucker born every minute. After CT scans, MRI's and God-knows what all examinations those parents have had to send their child through since 1998, they come to this e-mail discussion group hoping to find HALF-WAY PLAUSIBLE solutions/ideas/help. Instead, they get a theory, an "opinion" (in not-so-legal terms that's called CYA) that tumors are really TAPE WORMS EGGS IN A SACK? That the root causes for out-of-control TAPE WORM EGGS IN A SACK is mercury and dental metal poisoning. And, what's even MORE INTERESTING, while chemo seems to have no trouble in indiscriminately killing human cells, it just can't get a lick in on those big, nasty TAPE WORK EGGS IN A SACK that are lurking in "many people" (maybe even inside of their BRAINS). Sounds akin to the nuclear-blast-resistant cock roach or something. Heck, armed with this new information, I'm now sure that infestations of TAPE WORK EGGS IN A SACK must run rampant at dentists' offices and in mercury factories. Certainly they must have to sweep them out of the walkways and cabinets regularly because, after all, they THRIVE on such "heavy metals". With such bountiful feeding grounds available, I wonder why they choose to lodge themselves in humans. Oh--I see! Using this rationale, it must actually be because there is IRON in our blood. That sounds like a "heavy metal" if I've ever heard of one! I'd better call the nearest book publisher, 'cause I think I'm on to something here! And while I'm at it, I'll just toss in my $0.02. One should also "cleanse" one's self of another "cancer" suffered by civilization--that of the SNAKE OIL SALESMAN. Anyone who has cancer or is related to a cancer patient has the potential to fall victim to this scourge. There are hordes of them, everywhere! They THRIVE on ignorance and DESPERATION. They line their "egg sacks" (we call them "pockets) with the dollars of their victims. They use those dollars to further their growth and dissemination of more "opinions" (and we all know what those are worth) so that they can lure more victims and garner more dollars to continue their existence. They leave a slime trail littered with the hopes and faith of the credulous. Distantly related to the spider, they weave webs of deception to snare the incautious. Not to fear, however! There is a CURE! Take a grain of salt, and wash it down with good stiff dose of REALITY.
