Hello Giorlando, You may want to try Web site <www.lef.org> or call

Life Extention Foundation1-888-463-0362, FAX#954-761-9199 and ask for back

issure 'January 1999- " Conquearing Breast Cancer, Cell Metastasis, Bone Pain

and Hypercalcemia " , and :An " Illegal " Theraphy as Effective as Approved

Drugs, but safer and Cheaper " , and " The Foundation'sUpdated Breast Cancer

Treatment Protocol " . Also, as for the Printed Protocol and Multiple Myeloma

(Bone Marrow Cancer). All these articles mention MM also. Also, ask for

participating Physicians in your area thqt use their protocols. They sell a

little book on this but were nice encough to give me Doctors in my area,

some of which I already knew.

The problem with pain form the breast cancer was metastasis to the bone.

My Hematologist/Onocologist, who follows my progress (while I am on my own

agenda of Natural theraphy for the most part, administered an IV Aredia,

triple dose at $1500. a month, for 16 months. All I could read on it from

Wholistic sources indicated it causes some problems and this is noted in

the above mentioned protocols. They suggest Clodro, which has been used

safely in Europe, Canada and Mexico for 10 to 18 years and has no side

effects. I take double the dose, to compensate for the severe

Osteoperosis(Multi Lumbar Vetebra Fractures and, now healed lesions in my

leg, arm, pelvis, collar bones). One hundred caps usually 2 mo supply,

costs $70. plus $3.Ship & Handling via Mexico. From Canada it costs $250.

for the same size bottle. Life Extention sent four back issues and all are

full of very good information on this subject. Someone at this site posted

their Web, but I donot know how to do that yet. After about 3 or 4 months

on Aredia my bone pain subsided except for occasional aching.Clodronate

can be administered IV once a month if you are in an out of the country

location, as the FDA will not let it get Patented here, even tho it has

been proven safe.

Orally the Clodronate must be taken twice a day 7 days a week from here on

out. When it is ordered, it's generic name is Sodium Diphosphonate 400 mg.

caps/100 caps per bottle. I have just finished my first bottle and have had

no side effects, and the litertature says it has none, and my Hematologist

will still monotor by blood tests and exams. Good luck to you. Last week,

I looked on the large Dolley of Aredia in packing boxes at the Cancer

Clinic I go to the Doctor at and it was ordered from a Pharmacudical Co. in

Canada. They discourage the patients from 'going out of the country', go

figure! Liz G.

To " Vasquez,M.D.

Dear Sir;,Can you tell me if there is any known harm taking the Clodronate

at a dosage of two 400mg caps TWICE PER DAY? My Hematologist/Onocologist

had me on THREE packages of AREDIA in an I.V. administered once a month

(Triple the ususal dosage) for 16 months. I now am on the above dosage of

Clodronate. Radionically this is the dosage, but that is not always the

correct gage. Any feedback on this is appreciated. My Sincere Thanks, Liz

Dear Liz:

I don't know if your doctor prescribe only 8oo mgs of clodronate when the

right dose is between 1600 and 2400 mgs/day.

actually with 800 mgs you can't spect some side effects, if this are present

are Hypoclacemia (low calcium levels in your serum), nausea, vomit and

occionally bone pain.

I thing that combined the aredia (monthly) along with the clodronate orally

is a good idea to fight against the cancer in the bones (only needs to

adjust the dose) and to have monthly check ups of Calcium and CBC.

if you have any other question please feel free to ask .

did you see www.sdclinic.com already.

Dear :

I think you have a wrong information about biphosfonates ( which there are

several types)

the most commun biphosphonates used are Pamidronate, Clodronate for bone

cancer and, etidronate al alendronate for osteoporosis.

Some times when we don't have products available we make some combinations.

Reply: Dr. Vasquez, thank you for the information on Clodronate. I

really need some more information on the dosage, which is not available

here. Do you know of a source that I could get more information, like a

page out of an offshore PDR, and written in english? The reason I have

chosen to take it is so I don't have the bad side effects of Aredia causing

elevations of cytokines tumor necrosis factor (TNF) which hastens death of

the cancer patient and elevation of Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and decreases

lymphocyte and leukocyte count, according to the literature, The latter

decreased in my last blood counts. The cost of Aredia in the US is

prohibitive to continue for us on fixed incomes.

Discontinuation if consuming Cow's milk over six months ago has caused my

Calcium level to go back to be within normal limits. My research indicates

that Milk 'pulls the calcium out' instead if the other way around, as we

have been taught all these years. Just had to increase high calcium

vegatables. My Hematologist/Onocologist will continue with full monthly

blood monotoring.

Your help is appreciated, /sincerly, At 04:55 PM 09/01/1999 -0700,
