Guest guest
Hi, my experience is that a regular juicer, commerical or otherwise, doesnot juice wheatgrass worth a hoot. A special juicer has been made for it. Health food stores can tell you where to order one. I am glad you donot have chemicals on your wheat. I am not 'doing' wheat greass at this time, so cannot help with your supply. The kind of wheat grass used for juicing can be grown on (used) cafeteria plastic trays with a certain ration of stuff to make a 1 " soil, cover with organic wheat berries(seed) and soak, then invert an empty tray over it's top (or cover with damp newspapper to keep the light out so they germinate in the dark. When they grow up a couple of inches, uncover it a day and use scissors to cut it off (at about 3 " growth) and juice this green grass. The uncovering allows the light to fill it with Cholorophill...and it tastes sweet. Harvest just enough each day to juice a full ounce. After it's a few days old it gets tough and mold starts growing and it must be pitched into the recycle compost pile. Sincerely Yours, Liz At 11:30 AM 5/8/99 -0500, you wrote: >I am wondering about wheat grass, I have an over abundant supply of it, >I have a friend who is juicing it for me. what is the appropriate way to >juice it? Guest guest
P.S. to your last inquirey. Barley Green can be safely bought in a container, powdered and mixed with juices, from a Health Food Store of from folks who sell it in MultiLevel businesses (look in health food store magazine, or Mother Earth Mag. adds)m there too you can get ordering places for juicers & etc. I believe you can grow the Barley Grass the same as the wheatgrass but the problem is the Molds and yeasts are hard to control and they make your sicker than you already are. It is well worth your investment to purchase Wheat Grass pills . I mail ordered mine from:Pines Internatuional,Inc.,P.O.Box 1107, Lawerence,Ks.66044 You might write them for prices and juicer info. I think I paid $15. for 250 Tabs but I ordered them awhile ago. I personally am unable to use Barley Green.Yours,Liz G.At 11:30 AM 5/8/99 -0500, you wrote: >I am wondering about wheat grass, I have an over abundant supply of it, >I have a friend who is juicing it for me. what is the appropriate way to >juice it? I do not believe it is certified organic. > I believe you can grow the Barley Grass the same as the > wheatgrass but the problem is the Molds and yeasts are hard to control and > they make your sicker than you already are. I think I paid $15. for 250 Tabs but I > ordered them awhile ago. Pines only harvests 1 or 2 times a year. They are not certified organic. It says grown without pesticides but that is not certified organic. Kirillian photographs show that thelife force of Pines is very weak. Fresh is best (we also ship our fresh grass) but one should really shop around and see what they are actually getting. All greens products ARE NOT equal. This is specially important if one is trying to adhere to strict dietary protocols. > I personally am unable to use Barley > Green.Yours,Liz G.At 11:30 AM 5/8/99 -0500, you wrote: > >I am wondering about wheat grass, I have an over abundant supply of it, > >I have a friend who is juicing it for me. what is the appropriate way to > >juice it?
