Hello Cancercure Members:

I have a number of little issues to discuss with you that can help our list:

1. If you want to know whether your system is sending viruses with email,

then send an email to yourself or a friend and check for an email attachment

that you did NOT send. If it is there, you need to run a virus scanner on

your system and get rid of it. Try McAfee or Norton.

2. If you somehow missed an email, you can read it anyway by visiting the

web site and reading the archives at cures for cancer

3. If you want to chat with another member, visit the web site and click on

the chat link.

4. Do NOT send html in your messages. Most people hate it because it puts

gibberish on their screens because they are normally in text mode. Set your

email client options (Internet Expolorer menu: tools | options) to text

only, not to html.

5. If you are getting html in your cures for cancer messages and you want to stop

it, visit the web site and set your message mode to text only.

6. If you are overwhelmed by too many messages, set your message mode on

the web site to digest only or to web only. Web-only lets you read the

messages in the archive on the web instead of email.

7. Do not EVER open an attachment that has .EXE or .COM on the end. If

someone sends it to you, just delete it. Those are executable files, and

while they might be benign, do not trust them because they are the biggest

source of viruses.

8. Likewise, be very careful when opening .DOC (Microsoft Word) and .XLS

(Microsoft Excel) attachments, as they can contain viruses too. If you

decide to open a .DOC or .XLS attachment, DO NOT ENABLE MACROS. The latest

versions of Word and Excel will detect macros in the file and ask you

whether you want to enable them. ALWAYS ANSWER NO. Since macros are not

needed for the vast majority of documents, especially those someone will

send you on the internet, they are almost guaranteed to be viruses. To get

rid of the macro, save the .DOC file as an RTF file and then delete the doc

file. When you reload the RTF file, the macro will not be there, and you

can save it as a DOC file with no concern for infection.
