Guest guest
Hi all, It is believed by many in the medical/health community that a hi-protein diet is essential for persons with hiv/aids. I think I recently have been getting probably 30 - 50 grams a day. This is considered low to some persons and they might say I need 60 - 100 or more a day. I think the logic is that the the depressed immune system needs more to rebuild cells/tissues/muscle. There appears to be varying views on this as some say too much protein is not good....and too little is not good either....so each must find their essential requirements in line with their real needs. With immune deficiency I imagine protein needs go up some. How much do you all get daily?.....and what do you think? I was using some Whey-powder protein - the L-glutathione is supposed to be an excellent immune enhancer. I have stopped taking the powder and seem to be doing well without it. I have quit taking Host Defense by New Chapter (maybe I should get back on) and am taking My Defense by Natrol now. My white blood count have been pretty low, from 1.6 - 2.0 (normal being 4.3 - 11.0). If anybody is interested in my t-cell/v-load counts or med protocol....you may e-mail privately. Any tips on how to boost white blood counts to normal range? thanks, paul
