Guest guest
Anita, As far as I know the HIV tests are completely unreliable to diagnose an infants less than 24 months old as 75% of these infants serorevert to HIV negative. see the Perth Group scientific analysis help for infants testing HIV positive > Dear Group, > > I am new to the group and would like to ask if anyone has any > experience treating infants or young children who test HIV > positive. Guest guest
, You are correct that maternal antibodies are still picked up on DNA- PCR sometimes even upto 2 years of age. However, some of these kids in the orphanage are more than 3 years old. Even for the kids under 3, because of the repeated HIV positive tests, it is very difficult for them to be adopted. I have the opportunity to suggest some dietary modifications as well as alternative therapies for these children, but wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this. I would be particularly interested in Dr. s method.
