Hi all,

I think I have strained my right arm muscles, below the elbow.....owch! I

have been using the computer alot lately and wonder if it might be that. It

aches and now and then I get a shooting pain down towards my hand, my wrist

also aches and feels stiff. :-( Yikes! Dh has warned me I should stay

away from my puter for a few days to rest it!!

I have a great mouse pad with a gel wrist rest and everything.....

While I try to resist my computer for a while, any ideas how I can support

it? Should I support it maybe?

TIA all!

Take some rubber bands - ones about 6 inches in circumference. Use a

couple. Put them around your fingers and thumb and stretch the rubber band

out many times and as often as you think about it. These type of strains

are due to constant flexion of your fingers and wrist movement and the

rubber band exercise causes you to do opposite - stretching, extension

movement. And yes you probably should ease off a bit for a while on the

mouse. I notice it when I'm on a lot in the winter.

Go to a good chiropractor. I had " diagnosed " bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome,

was told to wear the wrist braces and not use my hands (yeah, right!) Did this

for about a year (the braces, anyway), and found an EXCELLENT chiropractor.

After a few adjustments to my shoulder and neck, no more carpal tunnel! I

haven't had pain in almost a year now!

yep - it was a chiropractor who told me about the finger/rubberband

exercises too!

It makes me sick when I think of all those disabled people out there with

'carpal tunnel' and surgeries and maimed for life. The hubris of

allopathic medicine

I missed a message here. Is there something that will help carpel tunnel. I

have suffered from cp off and on and would love to know about some treatment,

or exercise that will help.

Thanks.

It was a chiropractor (not a traditional one but one who knows tons about

muscles and insertions and origins of tendons that cured an arm of mine

that was strained from pulling luggage thru airports as well as wrist from

computer....

It is so sad and frustrating how many are out there who have had surgeries

and all when this is often all that is needed - sometimes chiro adjustments

or deep tissue massage too.
