Guest guest
Hi , I'm in chicago and there is a group of physicians called HOMEFIRST who assists parents with exemptions, HOMEFIRST.com. I am including below a website where you can get a sample exemption letter. http://www.unc.edu/~aphillip/www/chf/rlxmpt.htm You have to add Illinois law codes which are " 77 Illinois Administrative Code (Title 77:Public Health Part 665, SEction 665.510 " so you would start your letter with something like " IN accordance with the 77 Illinois ADministrative code (Ttitle 77: Public Health Part 665, Section 665.510, we hereby request exemption from immunizations on behalf of ..... " Several months back someone posted an exemption letter that was successful in Illinois. I printed the text out but will forward it to you if no one has it already saved in their computer. Email me privately and I'll can send it toyou. Also, there is a vaccine group in Illinois, the Illinois Vaccine Awareness Coalition which is very active. You might want to contact them also at http://www.infovaccineawareness (DOT) org Good luck to you and yours marvis
Guest guest
Hi, I am also new to this group and will introduce myself. My name is Parish, I am a work at home mom that has an adorable 14 month old son, Jordan. After much research (and before he was given any shots) I made the decision not to vaccinate him. I also have a good friend and a sister-in-law who made the same decision with their children, who are also my son's age, so I feel that I have a little support. In addition, I have chosen to raise him on a healthy diet of mainly raw fruits, vegetables, juices, and nuts, so I'm also hooked into a wonderful group for " rawfoodbabies " . I worked outside the home for another firm as a Certified Professional Resume Writer and Career Consultant prior to my pregnancy. The lady that owned the company had been out for an extended illness and I was running the entire show for her, which was a valuable experience for me. When I learned I was pregnant I decided to work from my home and have been home with him since birth - and love it. My husband also has his own construction / roofing business. He is supportive of not immunizing and of feeding the baby the diet we have chosen. My main concern at this point, as far as immunizations - and this is what I am needing advice on, is in preparing a Religious Exemption Letter for the state of Illinois to use for my son. A few months ago I had the health department nurse threaten me by saying " You know you can be sued for medical neglect. " To which I replied " That's fine, I have an exemption letter. " So I thought I had better get one ready. I realize that the laws in Illinois have recently changed and am happy to see that happen, which eases the stress a little, but I feel I need the letter for legal protection of my rights. If anyone can assist, I would appreciate the help. I didn't know if it was best to go to an attorney or if I could just write my own. Also, where can we find a doctor in our area (Kewanee Illinois or Peoria Illinois) that is open to no immunizations? My doctor and my sister-in-laws doctor are always being rude and pushy on immunizing and we would like to find another MD. I look forward to learning a lot on this list and will certainly go back and read the archives. I know I will need much advise in the future on immunizations and this will be a wonderful source for assistance. M. Web Site: http://www.CareerPlan.org New to this group Hello, I just joined this e-mail loop and am receiving mail already and it makes me feel a little uncomfortable not knowing anything about anyone. I would appreciate if at least some of you could tell me a little about why you're here. I have a 3yo who has had most of his vax and a boy born May 4 who will probably never be vaxed. I live in Alaska and he would either have to have all vax or none so I choose none. Anyway, enough about me... Cheryl
