Judd Makes Senate Plea for Vulnerable Women

In her debut appearance before Congress, Actress Judd, a member of the

Population Services International (PSI) Board of Directors and global ambassador

of its YouthAIDS initiative, made an impassioned plea to do more to protect

vulnerable girls and women in developing countries from violence, sexual abuse

and HIV infection. Ms. Judd, who testified before the Senate Foreign Relations

Committee at the invitation of its chairman Sen. Lugar, proposed a

variety of ways the U.S. could begin to change destructive social norms for the
