Dear All,

The Fifth African Development Forum (ADFV) under the theme of Youth For Leadership in The 21st Century is being organized under United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). ADFV aims to provide a multi-stakeholder platform to debate, discuss and initiate concrete and innovative strategies for endowing and motivating youth of Africa.

The forum will attempt to bring together stakeholders from different part of the world giving special emphasis for all 53 African countries. For this purpose a Pre- ADF e-discussion is organized to exchange ideas under different thematic areas. The thematic areas includes:

Livelihood

-Basic Education and life skills

-Secondary and higher education and training

-Skill development (entrepreneurial, technical, vocational)

-Creativity development in science and technology, incl. ICT

-Manpower utilization and employment creation

Enabling Environment

-Global and regional development initiatives-MDGs. PRSs, NEPAD

-Peace and Conflict Resolution

-Health and HIV/AIDS

-Gender

-ICT

-African Citizenship and Youth in Diaspora

-Volunteerism

-Environmental and Resource Management

-African Family, Culture and Tradition

-Youth Resource and Capacity Building
