Guest guest
World AIDS Day 2004 Competition: Web, Radio OneWorld/Staying Alive ********************** OneWorld/Staying Alive: World AIDS Day PSA Comp We ask you to show off the creative genius in you! So what do you have to do? Create your very own public service announcement - one that you would actually watch. But what is a public service announcement you ask? Simply put a public service announcement (PSA) is an advert that isn't selling a product, but giving a useful message instead. For example, last year our TV winner did a 30-second spot on using condoms - well on the importance of using them actually. Our radio winner did his spot on not discriminating against people living with HIV. But this year we've changed it a bit and we want you to focus on the World AIDS Day theme of Women, Girls, and HIV/AIDS. Women and girls now account for nearly 50% of all new HIV infections worldwide, particularly in the developing world. To make matters worse, women and girls do not have enough accurate information on how HIV is transmitted or how they can prevent infection. The differences between men and women socially and economically, as well as the violence women face, puts them even more at risk. What's in it for you? You get to win an Award!! There are two winning categories, one for TV and one for Radio. The winner of each category will receive the prestigious Staying Alive Award. In addition to that you will have your winning spot streamed on the Staying Alive site, the OneWorld sites, and on the UNAIDS site on World AIDS Day, December 1st 2004. As part of the Staying Alive and OneWorld campaigns the winning entries will also be offered to our TV and radio partners around the world to broadcast. The small print: Read the brief attached to give you more insight into the issues surrounding women, girls and HIV/AIDS. Read the competition rules and all the other legal stuff and then get cracking! You can produce a 30-60 second PSA for either TV or Radio. Then send it in on or before November 11th 2004. Send all entries to: OneWorld/Staying Alive World AIDS Day PSA Competition OneWorld International River House 2nd Floor 143-145 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3AB United Kingdom Make sure you send in all your forms too. Forms can be downloaded from the link at the bottom. But be advised you'll be judged on creativity, originality, clarity and deliverance of a message. Judges are based around the world to make sure that the spot is one that reaches a global youth audience.
