Dear Geoff and All,

I am posting this to AIDS treatments, too, as I see a posting from Henry at KANCO

about meeting up if/when you come to the ICASA, and want to say that

KAIPPG/Kenya Exec. Dir., Onyango, will be there giving a presentation

on our nutrition program, as will Stan Tuvako and Onyango, I believe,

in their role as HDN key correspondents. I hope that all of you will meet at

that time, and perhaps hook up with Allan Ragi, Henry, and all at KANCO,

about the national workshops/conference idea and all else. Wycliffe

Wanzala, Henry Njage, Wilberforce Akombo, and Kamau are all in

Nairobi, and I will also cc Fr. Glenford Lowe of the Don Bosco/Salesian

order in Nairobi, too, a mentor of Kamau's, as he might be another

good person with whom to connect (he is at dbyes@... ). I don't

know if Ed Karanja of KAWI will be there or in NYC in September, but am sure

you can make a date in this forum if the former!

Stan has had extensive experience helping visitors to feel right at home,

and even now he is helping a British student working on her thesis,

escorting her around and making sure she is safe and looked after in every

way (pizza I can't promise, haha!), so I have no doubt you will be in good

hands with him and everyone, and I see that he has written to you already,

so that's a great start! On that upbeat note will close and hope that all of

you will connect at some point before your trip (yes to trying to arrange

travel within Africa back and forth, and not flying home just to return a

few weeks later!). It appears that " all roads lead to Nairobi " now, so enjoy

your " roman " around, haha! With all best wishes, Janet

Well, Janet, I am still in Australia frantically sorting out tax

requirements

before heading to India via Malaysia. I registered an interest in attending

Nairobi conference and also Uganda and I was thinking that I would come to

africa twice to cover both dates. Now I am wondering if it might be more

practical to come to Nairobi and end up in Uganda with some visits in

between so as to save the air fares.I am making contact with the embassies

to ask for advice about visas right now.

I am excited by the prospect of chatting with some great egroup writers and

meeting some of the people but just a little nervous about safe land

travelling there.I am of course not afraid to take risks and my only dilemma

is my very western food tastes but apart from that this year looks like a

significant marker for changes that will positively impact more precisely on

the lives of positive people in Africa. I want to be

there at least for some of the time.
