I have a question about this medicine request.

Assuming that all these items are available from a wholesale

source what would it cost in Kenyan currency to order and pay for

them? The second question are they dutiable in Kenya or duty free

under these circumstances? The third question is will shipments

reach the right destination safely?

This is an obvious need but a costed shopping list might be more

useful.

Hi everyone,Thanks, Geoff and Valentine, for your responses, and thank you

Janet, for sending out the list.In answer to you questions, Geoff, Hezekiah has

given me the prices for all of the drugs as we are able to get them wholesale

from Main Street Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. in Kisumu. They are the cheapest in town

and tend to give us discounted rates because they know about our project.

Importing may in fact be more expensive than purchasing them here -- you guessed

right, the postal service is not always that reliable and " duties " may be

subject to the particular official we end up dealing with.So below are the

prices we've been quoted, all in Kenyan shillings, with an estimated total

figure in US dollars. If there is any other info you need, please ask. I'll

try to be prompt in replying. Thanks,Leila Tayebleilaahi@...

of 122,780 Kenyan Shillings. This is roughly $ 1,637 US (at a 75:1 exchange

rate). Any contacts on how we might acquire these medicines would be greatly

appreciated. (At this time, we would need them to be donated. We are in the

process of finding the start-up funds to create a pharmacy on-site which would

make the medical clinic more self-sustainable. In the meantime, this is not the

case due to the large number of clients we treat for free based on their

socioeconomic situations.)Thanks!!Leila Tayebleilaahi@...
