Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Amy! I was there!! I was so there. Looking and looking for

people from this list and from the list but to no avail. Maybe we

were just in different workshops - or ?? I looked for mostly because I

didn't know who else was going to be there but didn't see her at all. I did

get to go to two conferences of Joan Medlens and enjoyed them SO much. Great

information on visual strategies and if anyone here works with PECS or needs

visual strategies I still have Joan's handout and would be happy to email

you with all the links she provided and any other info... Foam boards and

laminators and velcro - oh my!

I was extremely glad I attended that workshop because some of the ideas that

had been described before suddenly started to click.

I love hearing Norman Kunc speak! i was looking forward to it all week. I

had heard him before at another event and was glad that my husband was going

to be able to hear him this time.

I could go on and on about how great the conference was....

I am just bummed that our little group didn't get together. It would've been

nice since you guys all gather in WV and leave the Californians out ;) I'm

kidding. I'm sure I'll meet someday....... she is only in AZ!

Next time we need to wear buttons or dye our hair blue or something.

I wish I was staying at the Westin, yknow leave the kiddos with grandma for

the weekend.... alas - that's what Nashville is for!

Sandy,

I'd love any info/links about pecs and communication boards that you

might have. I spent the day at a center for children with autism today.

I was fascinated with the speed that some of the kids used their pec

boards.

I loved the center and the kids that I met. I want to specialize in

sensory intergration dysfunction as a COTA. I need to learn as much

about autism and some other disorders, since I tend to just focus right

now on ds.

Let me know about any extra handouts. I'll email you my snail-mail and

send you the postage up front...
