Guest guest
Hi, Tim has been poorly for a week or so now, originally one of his famous green noses and then with a very high fever that the GP thought was probably a UTI but couldn't test his wee becoz he was already taking antibiotics. I finally got a sample off him today and took it in, it was like pea soup, well maybe more like cloudy chicken broth! Pretty disgusting anyway!! It was dip sticked and showed blood protein and glucose which I was told was a sign of inflammation and probable infection. I was then told that when he sees his paediatric surgeon or paediatrician which ever appointment arrives first) he should be sent for 'thorough' investigations to rule out reflux. Its years since I did any nursing (my speciality funnily enuf was renal!), what kind of investigations would they do these days and if they did find any damage what could they do to treat it? I am going down the road of lots to drink for now, I'm a bit twitchy about this one tho becoz I saw only the worst renal cases so only have worst case scenario to bring to mind when I think of urinary tract problems. sue wong
