This wasn't really very well established around here when Jeff's grandmother

was dieing of colon cancer 10 yrs or so ago. Been along time. His mom ended

up having to place her in a hospice/nursing home facility, and her brothers

and husbands assistance. It had become so hard for her to physically care

for her in those last couple of weeks because she hated the fact that she was

causing her pain. :-( It's to bad that In home care wasn't very well

established at that time, it could have saved her having to work through the

guilt of not keeping her mother til the end.

Wait, what does her IEP say about grading/evaluation methods for determining

progress?? ;-)

Doesn't sound like they fit the profile some people have of those who cannot

live anywhere else. Very impressive they took their case to the Supreme

Court.

That is a shame, Joy. I had lots of in-home help with my mother from

Hospice. Can't say enough good things about those folks!

I'm sure there are good nursing homes out there somewhere. Just never ran

across one myself. The newspapers are filled with abuse stories in those

places. And the ones I visit usually smell so bad!
