Guest guest
Hi, just a quick note. Took tim to the GP today, still got fever and pain in lag. Sent to hospital and admitted with a possible infection of his hip joint tho the consultant is a bit doubtful becoz he shouldn't be able to put any weight on it if thats the case. Blood tests to follow and confirm (or deny) diagnosis. If its not a hip infection then they are baffled and say it may be just a bad reaction to the virus he has. catch you later sue wong
Guest guest
Hi Tim Good to hear that you are starting back in work Monday and that your weight is slowly getting better too. Funny that you should mention that you now take Creon as i have been taking Creon since last November and so far everything ok. But i was told to watch which medication i take for loose stools if you know what i mean as they can interact with the Creon and make you ill. Again unfortunately i have to sometimes take a oneoff dose of Loperamide to halt things as you can imagine with IBS things can get quite hairy at times. Please keep us posted on how things go. from the UK ________________________________ From: Tim <timwilson12@...> achalasia Sent: Sun, May 9, 2010 9:29:12 AM Subject: update on Tim  Hi! Good news - am starting a phased return to work on Wednesday, exactly 3 months after my esophagectomy. My appetite has returned and I am enjoying my food. My weight is hovering around 10 stone - I was 11 when I had the op but its not going down anymore. Swallowing is still a little awkward in the area of the anastamosis and I have to have small portions but I am managing. Energy levels are OK but seem to fluctuate from day to day. My scar in my torso is aching at the moment, probably due to the cold and damp weather we have here in the UK at the moment. Overall things are going well, I feel well, have good colour [used to have chronic anemia] and obviously do not regurgitate food/blood anymore. Am on Creon [a pigs pancreatic extract] as I am not absorbing fat well but am in a better place than before the operation - it was certainly worth it. I feel very positive about the experience and the future. Thanks to everybody's support from the board! Regards Tim
