Guest guest
It has finally happened--I'm not too sure that I can do this alone. I took yesterday off from school, cause I was in so much discomfort from an UTI and bladder infection. Then today, I had to skip another class to take Karrie to the dentist. The day started out great. I found the dentist's office on my own (It's over 45 miles from here and I wasn't sure where it was). Karrie does not need her tooth capped like he thought and everything else looked great. She was such a big girl and let him clean and check her teeth. The insurance even covered all the visit, no copay!! Downhill from there...Karrie was running a fever by 1:00 and really wheezing. I caller her doctor and was told I could make an appt. for next week. Now , I know she's busy, but Karrie was miserable. I was told I should call in sooner. Yet, if I had called 2 weeks ago when this started, I would have been told, " Let it run it's course " . I took Karrie to the ER. The doctor there checked her out. She had a temp. She was wheezing from the congestion. Her ears are infected. She had a strep test done and a chest x-ray (both clear). He said he heard a heart murmur...first time since she was 5 months old that anyone has mentioned it. I was devastated. I was trying real hard to remain calm when the doctor says, " You shouldn't have let her get this sick " WHAT!!!! I let 'im have it. Lon, long story short--the murmur went away as the temp went down. Has anyone ever heard of that happening? Karrie is on antibiotics and Pedi-Care now. Thanks for listening... Guest guest
Heart murmurs happen. When (27,DS) was little, she would get a heart murmur every time she had a temp. The docs called it a " flow " murmur. I have a couple of relatives who had heart murmurs all their lives and lived to ripe old ages. granny --- " Beautiful that war and all its deeds of carnage must in time be utterly lost.
