Questions on enhancing access to care and antiretroviral treatment

Hello,

i do agree with Dr.Bitra that there is much to be

done before venturing into ARV which is ofcourse is the

last and best solution. By entering into an ARV era

we may bring in more unrealistic polypharmacy tendency

among medical practioners which has alreagy started

in some parts of southern India due to the frequent

visits of medical companies. One has to remember

that more than 85% of our population with retrovirus

infection may not afford ARV- say even single

therapy!

It is time that all people working in HIV/AIDS care

sit together and develop low cost care programs a

more uniform startegy- it time that we hear to best

practises and lessons learnt from various ends.
