Guest guest
What's happening in IL right now is absolutely disgusting. Is anyone formulating a plan of action? Calling our legislators doesn't seem to make any difference. Yesterday, out of frustration, I wrote Madigan -our Attorney General. Here's my letter: <<Now that Governor Quinn has vetoed the Human Services Budget, and it is July 1st - is there any cause of action for the State's Attorney General's office? The state of IL has a mandate to provide social services and has not provided funding. This is a serious, life-altering problem for families who rely on these services. It seems to me that this is in line with the OAG's responsibilities, " t he Attorney General is the state's chief legal officer and is responsible for protecting the public interest of the state and its people. The job of the Attorney General is to: Advocate on behalf of all of the people of Illinois; Legislate with members of the General Assembly for new laws; and Litigate to ensure state laws are followed and respected. " Thank you. Pam
