Guest guest
I TOTALLY do not understand this!! We DO NOT need any tax increase NOR do we want ANY cut in services!! What is wrong with this picture?!?!?!?! THE PROBLEM IS that the politicians of this state have lied, cheated and stolen from us the working class long enough!! Why dont the politicians stop giving themselves raises, and perks. Why cant THEY take a cut in pay??? Sure they donate to charities but they get tax incentives to do it, if I had enough money I would donate too!! Come on people, what is the REAL ISSUE here?!?!?! NO TO A TAX INCREASE AND NO TO A CUT IN SERVICES. Make them accountable and responsible, they have abused our funds long enough!!! They get fatter and fatter and we have less and less!!!! Guest guest
Hi, I am relieved to hear that others on this list have their own message and are sending it. It infuriates me to see the Governor rolling out the disability community so they can beg for more money - specifically, his tax increase. I am also beyond angry - why isn't the Governor threatening cuts to education? Oh, that's right. There cannot be any cuts to education per the legislature who passed the 50% budget. Ok, then why not Public Safety? ALL citizens of IL can refute, rally and refuse cuts to Public Safety. There's also Economic Development and Infrastructure. And another budget category: Environment and Business Regulation. Did all those agencies receive letters from the Governor's office announcing a 50% cut to their budget? I'm not saying IL doesn't need more revenue. I support a fair tax increase. I t  just makes me sick to see our kids used as political pawns. This is not going to help move IL further up the list. All its doing is perpetuating stereotypic myths that our kids need pity and protection. The disability community needs to send a message that demands respect. We should be demanding MORE and BETTER. Not the same. The Illinois legislators continue to DISABLE people with disabilities. And all that's being accomplished right now is a continuation of this mindset. Pam
Guest guest
You are so right, Pam...it is time to take the gloves off... We must be angry and we must hit them where it hurts...in votes...let's get the bums out of office! Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeld egskb@... Re: What?!?!?!! Guest guest
In theory I do not disagree, Kathy but the last administration did such damage that even with pay cuts, and a major clean sweep of government, the 9 BILLION dollar budget hole would be tough to fill without new revenue. However, I admire your anger...let's all get on the anger bandwagon and send a message to Springfield...we do all agree about the primary message: NO CUTS TO SUPPORTS AND SERVICES!!! It is the legislator's problem to figure it all out... Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeld egskb@... What?!?!?!! I TOTALLY do not understand this!!
