Guest guest
To those who have supported me and others interested: It is official. Tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. I will complete my " final out " which is the final paperwork that discharges me from the U.S. Army. I will officially end my service after midnight tomorrow (Fri. Oct 1). I was administratively discharged under Chapter 14-12c, Commission of a Serious Offense, of AR 635-200. Chapter 14 is the chapter covering Misconduct. I will receive a general, under honorable conditions, discharge. I would have served until my normal end of enlistment contract next May 2000. I refused to take the anthrax vaccine in June 1999. My commanders were fearful themselves but were in an awkward position. Thank you to those of you have supported me in many ways through this time. I am available for a short period of time at the following telephone number (912)355-8879. I will be leaving the area shortly. Sincerely, Shepard SGT, USA (will be " former " tomorrow evening)
Guest guest
Good Luck !! To all those interested, I met this outstanding gentleman... not only is he an outstanding gentleman, he is an outstanding soldier which the military has now lost. Contrary to some of command's popular belief that there are three bodies to take the place of one person leaving the gate, this is no longer true. The quality of person's being allowed to enter the gates is scary to say the least. Another quality soldier lost to the controversy program. It's a sad day........ Keep in touch, !!, and good luck to you, your wife, and your family!! Randi << To those who have supported me and others interested: It is official. The exception, being the marines, is not exactly suprising, since the Marines recruit in a much different(and I believe honest) manner than does the other services. People want to join the Marine Corps to be Marines, not to get college money. Also remember that the military HAS lowered the recruiting standards of individuals that are entering the service now. When I was at a basic training base for almost 3 years(I only got out a year or so ago), I remember countless stories of recruiters bending the truth...no, lying....to get a soldier in. I remember a female recruit from Kentucky who was on Prozac and she had been treated for depression, and she said that the Army recruiter told her to " stop taking Prozac now, but don't tell anyone that I told you to stop. " The military has increased its number of recruits who have not completed high school either. They have reduced the standards since the recruiting accessions are down, but by doing this they have also reduced the quality of soldiers who enter into the military these days. Furthremore, the military has also started to treat the soldiers better in basic training so that they " don't quit " so that the number of soldiers failing out of basic training isn't very large. What's the end result of this??? I saw a memo signed by Gen Dennis Reimer and distributed to the basic training units on my post(memo singned on Jan 96 or so) and the memo said that approximately 33% of the soldiers graduating from basic training do not stay in the military for their entire first term of service. In other words, they are kicked out since they cannot accomodate the physical or mental or behavioral standards required to be a member of the military. In other words, basic training is so easy and soft now that the soldiers who graduate from there obviously can't meet the standards in the military these days. And remember, if you can't complete your first term of service, then you don't get any college money. Oh well. What's the reason for so many people leaving the military these days and then so few people entering the military??? Is it the economy??? NO. After all, the economy was booming in the 80's and we didn't have any problems getting people in the military then. The reason??? Decreased federal spending on the military's benefits, and massively increased deployments around the world, on social missions like keeping the peace(as if that's not an oxymoron) in Bosnia, Haiti, or Kosovo. Let's not forget Somalia, where we helped to feed the Somalis and stop them from dying of starvation, and then they killed 18 US Army soldiers in October 18, 1993 in an ambush in downtown Mogadishu. Another reason that so few people are entering the military now is that the military hasn't marketed itself well. The military has done a very, very poor job of standing up for itself during scarce federal budgets and missions around the world keeping the peace. Also, the military has done a very bad job in its new, friendlier, caring atmosphere, where there are required classes on Consideration of Others, and Army Values. Of course, the man in the White House, since he " loathes the military " , isn't doing any good either.

Guest guest
First off NOBODY in the waiver has received the termination letter yet. So you can't send in a appeal letter until you get a termination letter. The appeal process won't work for the FAP because it is not a Medicaid Waiver program. Re: the address. I don't know. You guys have read this closer than I have.
