Guest guest
Dressler's answer is at the end of this posting from a couple of days ago...Basically, unless your provider takes Medicaid, if your child is on All Kids, which is a state Medicaid program, they do not have to cover services. Ellen, I have a question about getting All-Kids to pay for autism therapies - are they subject to the new Autism Legislation? My husband and I are both recently self-employed, and as COBRA was running out, we submitted multiple proposals for private individual health insurance. Of course, over a period of 6 months, EVERY major insurance carrier has denied coverage for our two sons (due to their Autism diagnoses). So, we resorted to All-Kids coverage, as of 3/1. Is there any chance at all to get our Autism therapy and remediation program (RDI), covered, at all?? Our RDI consultant IS NOT a medicaid provider. I guess that we should feel blessed to have any health insurance coverage for them at all, but I thought that I would pose the question. Maybe there will be a silver lining to this horrible experience... Thanks for your time, Ellen, You are correct, the AllKids plan is an extenstion of Illinos Medicaid and the providers have to accept Illinois Medicaid. Not much help.
