Guest guest
Passing this on for a friend…any advice appreciated. Thank you ***** Our school corporation in the past has provided early childhood services at various preschools in the area, however over the past few years, they have developed their own preschool program and increased the size and are no longer providing services to families who choose to place their children in other preschools. Aren't they required to provide services under the " community based " part of the IDEA? I understand that there is an increased cost with the other preschools (2-3x the cost of the tuition for the school corporation's preschool), but that shouldn't be a reason not to provide the services. Thanks for your time. *******
Guest guest
Faith attended private preschool and had speech at the local elementary school. I could have requested it at the preschool, but that would have taken away from her teaching time there, so I just transported her. She could not get PT because she was walking and that was all that was required physically for a 3 year to participate in school. She had OT on consult. She was getting that privately so I didn't make a big deal about it. Try the COSEP group, they will have more up to date information. ette mom to Faith (10)DS -------------- Original message from "Kathy Ratkiewicz" <Kathy_R@...>: -------------- Passing this on for a friend…any advice appreciated. Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2009 4:58 PM Subject: Fw: Tutoring Services I really need your help. Has anyone ever received one to one tutoring services when an IEP goals were not met. The school blames it on the student's behavior. The student had a regression because the school did not know how to service a child with autism. How did you achieve this. I do not want the simple ESY solution either. It is a big waste in Chicago. I also wanted to know if it is illegal to not provide grades for report card pick up day. My child did not receive a grade for 2 marking periods in Reading and Math. Thanks,
