Self-employment

All the questions about Acess make me wonder what is true and not true.  I was

told by Brad that our Support Workers are not liable for self-employment taxes

that they truly are employees.  To those who were receiving benefits in 2007 was

this truly the situation....that our caregivers are EMPLOYEES and not liable for

any self employment tax

I wish we could give Aces$ the benefit of the

doubt by saying that

they probably don't know the answer regarding unemployment until they

have to cross that bridge.

The simple truth is, if I am not mistaken, that " Brad " was one of the

guys who came to Little Friends to assist 21 or so families in

filling out the paperworks. There were about 4 families who raised

this very question, and one father who had indeed checked it out,

with his attorney, as well as insurance man. They both agreed that

the family will be responsible for the unemply as well as workers

comp payments. Aldo, my bert is that they will not be allowed to be

taken from the subsequent months funds.

I talked to my insurance guy as well. I guess I never thought about

unemployment wages, but I did ask about worker comp, resulting from

an injury, and one can purchase insurance to cover the number of hrs

our workers work a month. He quoted me a price of about $400 a yr

for 1 worker, and more for each employee, however the rate for each

employee after the 1st one is lower than the amt of number 1 employee.

The qujestion is does this insurance cover umemployment not workers

comp? My guess would be no.

Anyone care to chime in?
