I didn't think they could get much worse than the chicken pox crying teddy

bear ad. I hope these marketing geniuses are proud of themselves and sleep

better at night. Did they actually say as a possible side effect SIDS????

I didn;t think any of the companies admitted that!!

I would never renew my subscription with Parents either. It is one that I

let my daughter rip up after I have glanced through it!! :)

They did not actually say it..I wish they did, but they have the trials of

the vax results which were from bronciolitis, pnemonnia, ear inf, asthma,

seizures, congestive heart failure, etc..half the page is this info, there is

quite a bit of reactions during the study. Where it says SIDS it says there

were 12 deaths 5 SIDS and 7 " other causes " in one study and 21 deaths 8 SIDS

and 12 " other causes " in the other study including 1 older child " SIDS like "

death.

Of course it also states that there have been NO studies in safety in infants

that were born premature, NOT recommended for preg. women, or adults, NO

carcinogenic studies done, keep epinephrine on hand " just in case " etc.

I suggest we all keep a copy of this article on hand. I know I will add it to

my " files " that re unfortunatle growing larger every day :(

Does it say out of how many? And why don't they list death as a reaction if

the deaths happened during the study? And it seems odd because SIDS isn't

really a " Cause " either is it. I mean...sudden infant death from what???

Who is the manu. of this vax anyway. You know it is getting very hard to

keep up with all of these. Prevnar is for what " disease " anyway?

Thanks!

I ask the same questions. In my opinion, as humble as it may be, I believe

the term SIDS is a generic term for " who the hell knows why " I would assume

all or at least 99% of those deaths were from the vax. Let me tell you one

thing though, I am a nurse, not working at the moment, but in my NURSING drug

book it states a side effect from the DPT is SIDS. Right there in black and

white. The experts can say what they want...it is in the Medical books. I

also have a copy of the PDR (physicians desk reference) That is even scarier.

If you want email me privately and I will mail you a photocopy of the

article. My scanner is down. Or go to your local grocery store and pick up

the latest Child mag. It is the sept. issue.

Prevnar is made by Wyeth Lederle, the same ones who hurt all those babies

with the Rotovirus vax. I think they were just lagging behind in the prifits

compared to the other big companies, so they had to think of something. The

vax is for the Pneumococcal bacteria, that is responsible for SOME types of

meningitis.

The ad says " Bacterial meningitis...It's a mother's instinct to protect. Now,

there's a revolutionary vaccine that can help "

GAG GAG!! Is there an internet face for gagging??

the other being pulled off the market :)

I know how you feel. I now throw away the free issues of American Baby that I get, which I never signed up for in the first place! I also no longer buy Parents or any of those. I get way too mad and riled up, sometimes even throwing them across the room. I subscribe to Mothering, and once in a while I will buy Parenting because although it is mainstream, I have liked the subtle way they support things like family bed and breastfeeding, sometimes not so subtle. They've had great articles on both.

Is there really a Canned Food Alliance????? Can people truly not tell

the difference????? And I agree with you about Mothering and Compleat

Mother. Never heard of Empathetic Parent, though it sounds like

something my husband would enjoy - as a stay at home dad during the busy

days while I work, he's a little put off by the gender slant of these

magazine names. (Though I must say he reads Mothering and loves it.) (-:

Do you have a website or tele# for Empathetic Parent? Namaste, G.
