Welcome ! =) Someone else asked this question awhile ago and I

don't believe anyone was able to come up with an answer for her. We are

interested in adoption at a future time, so I'm looking for the answer to

this question as well. Unfortunately its a fine line you are treading....

=( Good Luck and I hope your little one can get away without having too

many shots!

Welcome !

Congratulations on your new son!! I can only come up with one idea and

that is to give some kind of excuse to delay the shots until another visit.

Maybe he hasn't been feeling well, and you would like to wait until next

time.

We are also looking into adopting and I never thought about that interim

period. If I find out anything I will let you know. Otherwise...stall!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi, I'm new to the list and wanted to introduce myself and ask a question.

My name is , and I live outside of Philadelphia, PA. My husband and I

have adopted two sons. With our first son, we had him immunized until the

adoption was finalized, and then we stopped. We just got our second son,

who is now seven weeks old. He had the Hepatitis B Vaccine at birth, and

that's been it. We *really* don't want any more immunizations for him, but

we don't know what our rights are until the adoption is actually finalized.

Does anyone have any information on this, or know where we might be able to

find some?

Also, about the breastfeeding ban, I haven't been downtown, but I've heard

that there are groups down there protesting the anti-breastfeeding people!

The whole thing is unbelievable!!

Thanks,

>>I'd love to adopt a child in the future, but I'm afraid that, what

with my crazy parenting ways and all, we'd never be apporoved.<<

I know what you mean, . We just play the game. We have a family bed,

but we still set up a whole nursery for the social worker to see. I feel

like a hypocrite, but if that's the only way I can have a family, I'll do

it!

Thanks for the welcome! I wondered if the adoption topic had ever come up

here. I'm going to continue my search, and I'll let those of you who are

interested in adopting know what I find out.

As far as stalling goes, the baby's already " due " for several of his shots,

and we have to have three or four follow-up inspections over the next six

months before we can finalize, so, unfortunately, that won't really work.

Welcome . That's so funny...I was just thinking about asking that same

question (vaccination rights when you adopt children) this morning but I didn't

have time. I'd love to adopt a child in the future, but I'm afraid that, what

with my crazy parenting ways and all, we'd never be apporoved.

Is it not possible to find a doctor to " suggest " the vaccines be delayed a

year or so. By then the adoption will be final and you can do as you please.

Perhaps someone on the list can help out with a doctor that would do that.

Good luck and congratulations.....
