The importance of being thin is plastered all over television,

newspapers and magazines. The " skinny " image is what the media

tells us is correct. This image is putting a lot of stress on

women to be skinny. Society thinks that if you want to be

beautiful, you also have to be skinny.

Because of this, many women go to great lengths to obtain the

" skinny " image. Some even get caught in the dangerous bulimic and

anorexic trap. Both bulimia and anorexia are very serious

conditions that require medical treatment. According to Stedman's

Medical Dictionary: Bulimia nervosa, more commonly known as

bulimia, is an eating disorder. It is a psychological condition

in which the subject engages in recurrent binge eating followed

by intentionally doing one or more of the following in order to

compensate for the intake of the food and prevent weight gain:

* vomiting,

* inappropriate use of laxatives, enemas, diuretics or other

medication,

* excessive exercising

Webster's Dictionary defines anorexia as,

A psychophysiological disorder usually occurring in young women

that is characterized by an abnormal fear of becoming obese, a

distorted self-image, a persistent unwillingness to eat, and

severe weight loss. It is often accompanied by self-induced

vomiting, excessive exercise, malnutrition, amenorrhea, and other

physiological changes.

A woman does not have to be bulimic or anorexic to obtain a slim

figure. Bulimia and anorexia are two common eating disorders

that destroy a person's life. The victims overeat and engage in

vomiting in hopes of losing weight. The weight loss is obtained;

however, the victim's health suffers. Many women die each year

from bulimia or anorexia. These are two very dangerous ways to

lose weight.

If you or anyone you know is engaging in bulimic or anorexic

behaviors, you should consult your doctor immediately.

All of the movie actresses that you see from Hollywood and all of

the high-class Paris models that you see in magazines have the

perfect body. They are thin and beautiful. Their curves are

perfect, and their smiles are out of this world. All women want

to look and be like these actresses and models.

However, what women fail to see is that the pictures you see are

not real pictures of the actual person. They are pictures that

have been edited, changed and/or altered in some way to make

these women look flawless. Yes, they are thin and beautiful in

real-life; but there are a lot of tricks that the photographer

can use to make these women appear to be perfect in the pictures.

Women are actually built to have curves and a higher percentage

of body fat than men. It is ok to be a little overweight.

There are hundreds of beautiful and successful women who are

overweight. There are healthy and safe ways to lose weight.

Three ways that a woman can lose weigh successfully are:

1.) Eat smaller portions of healthy foods. Reduce or eliminate

junk food or foods that are high in oils, fats, and calories

2.) Exercise regularly. Visit your doctor before starting an

exercise routine. It is exercise 20-30 minutes per day. Walking,

jogging, doing sit-ups or aerobics are great exercises that help

shed unwanted pounds

3.) Take a dietary supplement. One dietary supplement that is

worth exploring is called Zyroxin and is available at

http://www.bodestore.com and at Amazon. This product can help

curve your hunger and help you lose weight. Another product that

attacks weight loss on multiple fronts is Zalestra also

available from http://www.bodestore.com.

You do not have to risk your life to be skinny and beautiful.

You should never engage in bulimic or anorexic activities because

this will only harm your body and these conditions can be

fatal. Eating right, exercising regularly, and taking dietary

supplements are three of the best ways to lose weight.
