I know nothing about progesterone (the whole gist of your question), but

I just wanted to let you know that with my last pg'cy I had braxton hicks

very early (like 20 weeks) and almost constantly. They worried me a bit

because I didn't remember having ANY w/my 1st. Anyway, I recently delivered

a healthy baby - several days late. No problem.

Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy!

HELP!

:)I was wondering

who can give me a heads up as to pros and cons of progesterone in pregnancy...

Let me give you some background and then a reason for my question... Thanks

for putting up with me! I

tend to be low in progesterone. I know this via my ND as well as all the

books I read and such. Using natural progesterone cream changed my

life last fall! I went to no headaches, rid me of the ovarian cysts,

and helped me to stop having chaotic nightmares, as well as helped my menstrual

cramps... I cannot say enough good things about it. Well,

I know my midwife had said it was ok to use the progesterone cream in the

first trimester to help prevent miscarriage and such (I had a m/c in Feb.

and was pg again under 2 weeks later... guess I am fertile, lol).

But I did not think to ask about using it thru my entire pg. And

keep forgetting to ask... So

thru research I started realizing it could really help my pg. and started

using it again and my nightmares (which I have due to hormonal imbalances)

have lightened up and my energy has improved...

So, here is my concern... I

am having a few braxton hicks contrax, and I am at 22 1/2 weeks.

All is well, though. I had thought it was do to way overdoing things

physically over the weekend... But was wondering if it might be related

to the progesterone at all? PS-

more OT- but we are still needing name help for this baby... Middle name

is Indiana (it is a boy) and we like uncommon names...Sindea

Thanks... I know they are common... And I think I may be a bit dehydrated- because I have also had a few charlie-horses in my calves... But with my son Raiden I went into labor at 28 weeks. He was born at 34 weeks and very healthy. But in planning a home birth I am trying to stay on top of things- need to make it to 37 wks...

Definitely stay hydrated - that's important. Try getting more potassium

and calcium to help your leg cramps.

I don't know too much about progesterone cream during pregnancy (OK, I

know nothing about it), but I think that Braxton-Hicks contx can be common

at 22 weeks, as long as they aren't too strong or rhythmic.

We had a hard time picking out a girl's name this time, l but we finally

did. I don't know if these names are unique enough for you, but you're

welcome to them: Girl: Yael Arianne; boy: Noah Ezekiel
