Guest guest
I forgot not to take my thyroxine when having blood tested so the result came back as 0.21 for a ref of 0.35-.35, doctor said she had never heard that patients should not take meds before testing so is adamant that we must reduce or I run the risk of heart damage. The other thing I had done was the 24hour heart monitor which came back with occasional extra beats which she is not worried about but the thing is the pounding heart and extra beats all pre date me taking thyroxine anyways. Antibody test was positive at 53.8 with ref 0.00-34.0 Asked about T3 testing, she said it was not useful as it doesn't measure blood level. Would not refer to endo because she doesn't think they would accept the referrel on the basis that they have nothing to add. Thinks all my joint pain, palpitations, puffy eyes, insomnia and depression may well be down to some other autoimmune disorder. So we are dropped down to 75mg for 6 weeks till further bloods and that is that, it seems if symptoms continue then we just rule out thyroid!
