Guest guest
hi jennifer, welcome to the list!! elliott, my 6 year old, was fully vaxed up to age 5--he's now missing a couple of boosters, and sawyer, my 9 mo. old got his first round of vaxes and vit k before i decided no more. fortunately, my kids appear to be just fine--but i just couldn't risk it sny longer. i , like you, had no reason to even suspect there were reasons to not vaccinate--i thought i was being a good mom, by showing up on tyime and getting that immunization card filled up. as far as the law concerning vaxes and going places , it's different everywhere yopu go, but most of the time you could just say that you don't have your kids immunization cards, otherwise (like, with school), you'll need to claim either a philosophical or religious exemption (depending on where you live--i think in Ark, you only have medical and religious exemptions--but i could be wrong). i am in the process of my son going into 1st grade without the proper boosters--we'll see what the school says--i sent in his annual physical before the end of his kindergarten year and haven't heard anything yet--but i'm sure i will. (upon entering kindergarten, there was no problem, because he was up to date at that point--looking back, i kinda wish he hadn't been, (well, for other reasons too), because if he wasn't, there was a spot of the enrollment form where i could just check off that i was claiming a religious exemption, and quite often, as long as that is checked you are ok, not always, often). anyway, i'm glad you are here, gathereing the information that you need to make the right choice for your kids and your new baby--it's not an easy row to hoe, (no one said being a parent would be easy, right?) but i am happy with the decision i have made and i do sleep better at night, despite the worrys i have over potential problems with dr's, child welfare, school, etc. everyone here is very knowledgeable and supportive, so ask any questions you might have. good luck with your search! brigit

Guest guest
Hi I have a question. Is one of the biggest reasons vaccine are so harmful to us is our bodies are fighting these diseases for 10 to 20 years? My girlfriend asked me that question I said yes that is why a vaccinated childs immune system is more compromised and leaves it more susceptible to other infections, you never get rid of the disease. She thought the child gets injected builds up antibodies and that is all. I hope I was right. I have read so much both ways I have forgotten a lot of info. Guest guest
This site has a lot of very insightful info. One thing that concerns me is since there are no more measles parties, and me the breastfeeding mother does not have natural immunity, that if my son were to get the measles it would be a strong nasty strain and then give it to me. It seems to me my mother screwed me by going with the herd. Even though it was unintentional. I know for certain my son would not be better off without me, so again for me it is difficult. Guest guest
greetings!I am trying to figure out what my issue/s is/are and what to do about them. Â Am currently on T3/HC regimen after many years of T4/T3 and 10-12.5mgHC. Â I very suddenly could not tolerate the naturethroid or armor AT ALL. Â New doc thought I was converting any T4 I took in into RT3. There is definitely some hypoadrenalism going on as well. Â At this point I am not sure if I need something more there (new doc has me on 20 mg) or less or what. Â I'd very much prefer getting off all drugs but can't seem to find any way to do this. Â I've been vegetarian, high protein, low cal, etc., etc., I gain weight no matter what! Â Currently I eat red meat once a day (need it) and animal protein off an on all day with some veggies and a very very little fruit. Â No sugars and almost no processed carbs. Â (I reserve the right to eat a fried chicken leg now and then.) Â I have a funny relationship with vegetables. Â I don't like them, never have and now it 'feels' like they are empty calories. Â I literally cannot eat enough vegetables to fill myself up. Â I don't know what to do about this other than to eat meat/eggs and dairy. And nuts. I eat raw pecans all day long. Â When I was vegetarian/vegan I starved and pumped myself full of tofu just to not 'be starving'. There is some blood sugar aspect though it seems to be not a problem as long as I do not eat anything starchy (lima beans the other day shot up my blood sugar) or more than a couple wedges of apple. Â There is no doubt in my mind that if I ate breads, etc., I would be a diabetic. Anyway, not sure this Rx approach is going to answer my issues though it is a little early yet to be giving up on it. Guest guest
Hi there > I have just been diagnosed with depression and have been prescribed citolopram. However I feel that the depression is a symptom and not the problem. You are probably right - it is good that you are listening to your instincts. > I had a thyroid test 7 years ago after pushing my GP. My symptoms were Noncyclical Breast pain, hair loss and weight gain, abnormal bleeding and loss of sex drive. I never got to see the test results but I was told they were normal. Can you ask for the results from then, and get a new test now? > Since then I have been diagnosed with Endometriosis and polyps, (for which I have been given the Mirena coil) cervical erosion, chronic urticaria and of course the depression. I am sorry but I know nothing about any of these (I am male) or what they may be linked too. > Other symptoms swelling on my toes and occasional white toes, regular numbness in my little fingers on both hands, very dry skin and forgetfulness. I think these may be related to thyroid and circulation? when i am not on enough thyroid hormone my feet go very cold. dry skin can be linked to thyroid and vitamin A (Vitamin A can be low in hypothyroid as people cannot convert beta carotene to Vitamin A well) > I have found in the past that GPs are not very sympathetic, one (female Dr.) told me re: my sex drive to 'lie back and think of England' That's not helpful, is it. What a stupid response. >I feel like I'm getting nowhere, I'm glad I came across this site I think recommended Dr Peatfield's book? It is very good. Another very good book is this one, by the expert Dr Thierry Hertoghe: Dr Hertoghe covers all the hormones in quite a lot of detail, and writes about the symptoms of the deficiencies and treatment etc. Some people just need thyroid hormone, others need other hormones to be balanced, too. That book will give you a good overview of it all: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hormone-Solution-Dr-Thierry-Hertoghe/dp/1400080851/ref=s\ r_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid=1328370083 & sr=8-1 If you buy it through this link, then TPA will get a small donation from the purchase price : http://www.amazon.co.uk/278-5135849-6113134?ie=UTF8 & placement=home_multi.gif & tag\ =thypatadvuk-21 & link_code=hom in Dr Hertoghe's book there are various questionnaires which will give indications of where your symptoms lie. There are some questionnaires in the files, too, if these interest you. http://www.amazon.co.uk/278-5135849-6113134?ie=UTF8 & placement=home_multi.gif & tag\ =thypatadvuk-21 & link_code=hom chris
Guest guest
HI LALA I am glad that your Husband has turned to support you, but mine did not even come into the surgery just stayed in the car outside and just dumped me outside the hospital when I had to have surgery, and on one occasion flared up in anger at the fact that instead of bringing in shampoo he had purchased conditioner. The tantrum came when I told him that I could not use it for shampoo. It upset me and delayed me going home. I have now found that thyroid patients do not like be shouted at. He also drank far too much which worsened as he got older. We ended up making each other ill so I had to make the decision that we could not live together. The divorce came several years later after another temper tantrum, and at the time he had a lung infection, so I went ahead with divorce. My Daughter who also has Hypothyroidism, and three children, but the last born suffered, and although unmarried he chap and Father of her children left them for another female. His Son has not forgiven him and I do not think he will ever. I cannot understand my Daughter as she will suffer herself in the way she is treating me, and has deprived her children of both Grannies. Twice I managed to get the former Husband to attend the surgery with me, but the GP on both occasions was at fault (no honesty) which in turn ruins a marriage. I have recentley found out that some crucial health records went missing at the point when the GP struck me off his list, so I am involving four Trusts in a complaints procedure which I hope will end in a court case. A GP who removes or mislays a patients records comes under the data protection act, but in turn it has led to wrong treatment. If the polyps bleed they can cause a urine infection plus causing pain, so they remove them. I hope your Husband learns from this Forum, and that you marriage does not break up. OH the vet yes I consulted a vet once when I took a rabbit to her, and she too was sympathetic, and I have to say it, but Vets, if fully trained have more knowledge than a GP has, and I have often wanted to take myself to a VET for consultation. Kathleen > > > Thanks for you reply Kathleen. My marriage has been very rocky lately to the point we had decided to split, but my husband is now being very supportive and is as keen as me to investigate the possible thyroid issue. > > Lala >
