Guest guest
Hi all Ive posted a few times recently with my whole saga - so wont repeat it all and bore you.... Ive got lots of things to try - tests etc as im still ill after 12 years on thryoid meds. But in the meantime im just trying to get my medication a bit stable. My symptoms vary all the time so nothing is ever consistent to work things out. At the moment whats happenning is that im getting these intense hunger pains - which are worse at night. I often get woken at about 5am with the same thing and need to eat to go back to sleep and just settle it. Its not that I am hungry as I eat a lot and all day as I like to gain weight. I have a very healthy diet so no issues there. For a while I wondered if it was adrenals as I know this can be a symptom - but I felt it didnt ring true for me and current tests show much improvement. Instead its linked directly to how much thyroid med I take. Ive had many probs over the years tolerating thyroid meds. Am currently on 100t4 and 20t3 and t4 in blood is over range and a bit too high but urine tests are very low in both t3 and t4 so clearly the thyroid not gettign through to cells - ive had advise and working on this but its been a constant problems for years... However, sometimes the hunger pains are so much and stop me sleeping I give in and take some extra t3 - instantly my body relaxs and I sleep lovely. I feel more hypo in some ways, as the adrenalin settles, but its better. BUT after 2/3 days I then get 'toxic' symtoms - shaky, anxiety, constant crying, very low and this horrible feelign that stops me walking around at all - its not so much fatigue but this wierd strained feelign like a force is pushing against me and I cant push forwards. Its very unpleasant and more restricting than hypo.... SO then I cut back again and get relief but a few days later the hunger etc starts. I always believed this was low thyroid?? And the toxic symptoms are from too much hormone in the blood? Do you think this is correct? Just trying to establish which causes which symptoms? Ive tried lowering t4 to then add more t3 but this still doesnt work - if I take more t3 then I get these symptoms a few days later no matter what. Its wierd! I know my levels arnt right - im just trying to get on a level which I can keep stable whilst I sort other stuff out. Its driving me mad. Does anyone else get these hunger pains - more in chest really but eating soothes it even though I cant really be hungry. Its not terrible just annoying and reminds me soemthign is wrong. Am I right in thining this is low thyroid? Or is it perhaps from toxicity or anything else related to thryoid meds? Thanks Carly x
