Guest guest
I am Dr skinner's patient and have just changed from armour to erfa and feel poorly. Is armour still available with an NHS prescription in its old form( pre 2009) or has Forest stopped supplying this country altogether? I know I need to give Erfa some time, but wonder if people here get Cytomel and what it is like? I'm afraid Forest is no longer supplying European pharmacies with Armour, but you can buy it yourself from someone like International Pharmacy. It is likely to be even cheaper than buying it with a private script. http://www.internationalpharmacy.com/en/products/search/armour/1 My advice would be – if you do well on Armour, then stick with it and buy it yourself. Most people get on well with Erfa, but not all; I tried it and it made me extremely dizzy, even on the smallest dose. So it's not for me either. In my personal view it would be a big mistake to exchange something that you know works well with you (like Armour) by switching onto a T3 only (Cytomel) therapy. We are all different, and there is no guarantee that what works for one will work for others. Generally speaking it is always best to stick with something that resembles the closest to the functioning of a healthy human thyroid gland... and that is natural desiccated thyroid with its proportions of T1, 2, 3 and 4 and Calcitonin. A T3-only therapy is not without its problems either and you'd most likely not get a Cytomel-only therapy on NHS prescription either, so why rock the boat? With best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year J
Guest guest
thanks for that . In fact I've been on Armour since 1998, but I have gone downhill over the last two years which I put down to having had knee replacement surgery. If i return to armour it needs to be the old formula-i only just found out that they changed it.Do you know if International Pharmacy stocks the new type? or if they went back to the old formula. Guest guest
Jan, There are no known stocks anywhere of old formula armour... the new type is the only stuff available from forest. Some people did ok with new armour, by crunching it up and drinking it with orange juice. . > > thanks for that . Guest guest
You need to crunch erfa too or you can let it dissolve under your tongue Chris > > > > > > Jan, > > > > There are no known stocks anywhere of old formula armour... the new type is the only stuff available from forest. > > >
