Hi All

Thought I would see if I could still store iron without the Spatone sachets.

Just recently had ferritin blood test and mu results were

89 range 20- 291

Early in the year January 2011

Serum Ferritin was 227 Range 20-291, Is that a lot to drop in less than a

year? Does it mean I will always have to take iron? Any advice would be

welcome,

Luv Stephie

Your ferritin level of 89 is absolutely fine Stephie - this is

around where it should be and is quite normal for a woman. I should imagine the

drop came about because when you had your blood last tested, when it was 227,

that test was done when you were on a course of iron supplements. There is no

need to worry at this point, but do eat foods rich in iron to keep this level

up.
