Guest guest
My 10 yr old Grandaughter has had Coeliac from 1 yr old She was diagnosed with Hashimotos Antibodies earlier this year Both her Grandfather and her Aunt have Hashis + they both have Central Hypothyroid The Peadiatrician responsible for her refuses point blank to test for free T4 and free t3 all he tests is TSH in June her TSH was 5.6 and he was debating giving her thyroxine but did not although she was full of aches and pains etc in Oct her TSH was 2.6 SO HE REFUSED point blank to treat her despite knowing the family history or recognising the genetic probability she too has Central Hypo which CANNOT be detected using just TSH Her school work is dropping off quite worryingly for a bright child and she is often in tears but she is not complaining of aches and pains and theres no other physical symptoms Does anyone else have a Hashis child where Brain Fog /poor scholastic problems are the only real manifestation or have any ideas before we demand a referral back to Great Ormond St Her parents are truly worried about her I am aware of puberty issues from age 10 are common today but she is tiny and slender being a coeliac and both i and daughter seriously do not think thats the reason Theres no bullying issues etc going on Please respond privately by email Pat
