Guest guest
Hi , When you up the NDT, the FT4 should climb a little more, but generally speaking the FT4 is lower in relation to the FT3 when on natural thyroid. It is nothing to worry about – its due to the higher T3:T4 ratio of NDT. T4 is only a pre-hormone on `stand-by' for when needed. The important bit is to make sure the FT3 is (ideally) in the upper third to near the top of the ref range – but not above. With best wishes,
Guest guest
It depends on the individual but having a low free T4 when taking natural thyroid extract is nothing to worry about unless it starts to go too low. However, I would not really consider a FT4 of 14 to be that low. Luv - Sheila My GP bloods came back today and i'm going in the right direction finally! FT3 5.0 (ref 3.9-?)/FT4 14 (ref 10-25) - they didn't bother with TSH which i found encouraging. I've only just raised to 3 grains Armour yesterday (Erfa on order)as i knew before the results i needed more. My question is will my T4 get higher? or is it traditionally low on NDT?
