Guest guest
Hi,I have a confusing symptom where every now and then I get a hot flush and feel a bit buzzy in my head and my little finger on my right hand will tremble. The trembling lasts for about a minute. If I clench my fist it may go away quicker. It happens about once a month since I became aware I had a under active thyroid and adrenal issues about 6 year ago.No one seems to know what is going on. I have had various opinions. Dr P said never seen that before. Another endo said I must have ME etc. My doctor tested me for Diabetes and said I was OK. Other reasons are your thyroid is trying to work etc..I have tried to monitor to see when and why it happens. I find that bright light is a trigger e.g. when I go to the cinema and watch a film the symptoms will happen straight away. As a general rule I avoid all sugary food and that includes fruit for when I had yeast problems. Sometime if I have sugary food like a banana or some honey in tea this triggers it as well. But not straight away, usually hours later. Can I please have some advise to what this could be.
Guest guest
This is either B12 , vitamin D, calcium deficiency or it could be a symptom of Parkinson's disease. You need to see a neurologist to find out the cause of this, but first, ask your GP to test your levels of iron, transferrin saturation%, ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc, and when you get the results and the reference range for each test done, post them on the forum so we can help with their interpretation. If these are low, they will need to be supplemented and then see if that helps. We can then take it from there. Are you being treated for low adrenal reserve Jas? What other medications are you taking? Guest guest
Hi Sheila,Thanks for your feedback. My iron and vitamins described below are now all top of the ranges now. I can't see why it can be Parkinsons disease as symptoms gradually get worse with time. Mine have not. In fact sometimes I can can go sometimes months without problems and then get one or two instances over a few days. Parkinsons trembling is not triggered by sugary food or bright light. These symptoms only came apparent when I found I was Hypo and later also found I had adrenal issues all along. My adrenal issues are still on going, I have been on adrenal extra and dhea and Compose for 3 years, getting better slowly. I'm also on 10mcg T3 and 97mcg of T4. From: Sheila <sheila@...> thyroid treatment Sent: Wednesday, 21 December 2011, 16:33 Subject: RE: Confusing symptom. Please help. Guest guest
10mcgs T3 is a teeny dose Jas. How long have you been on that dose? You should increase T3 by another 10mcgs in 2 weeks if you have had no adverse reactions, and lower your T4 by 25mcgs. It appears that the average dosage of T3 is around 50mcgs with some people needing much more, and others needing less. How much DHEA are you taking and how much Adrenal Extra and when was the last time you increased your dose? Luv - Sheila Thanks for your feedback. Guest guest
Shelia,I have been on this dose of T3 for 4 years now. It took away the obvious hypo problems away but still feel very problematic with adrenal issues. Or it could be a mixture of both. My alternative doctor never has grasped how to use T3 and always told me to move up doses of T4. As they were always bottom of the range. However with every increase I have felt slightly better. With raising my T3, do I need to first drop the T4 or do it simultaneous? I tried raising my T3 dosage from 10 mcg to 15mcg and staying on my T4 dose 2 months ago. I felt much better in the head (no ringing noises), however got palpitations/diarrhoea, hot swollen fingers and bit short of breath. I lasted 5 days before reverting back. My temperatures became a bit better and rose to 36 C from the usual 34 C during that time.I am on 2 Nutri adrenal extras and 25mg DHEA in the morning and 2 Nutri adrenals in the afternoon for 3 years now. Feel steady and stable but not fully better As my average temps are around 34 C during the day and my basal temps around 36.1 C. Could you send me a list of doctors in London as I feel I need a change from my alternative Dr C in Hendon.thanks From: Sheila <sheila@...> thyroid treatment Sent: Thursday, 22 December 2011, 8:49 Subject: RE: Confusing symptom. Guest guest
I used to have horrible feelings & sort of pins & needles in my hands & head before I had my amalgams replaced. I wonder if you have any mercury problems? Val I have a confusing symptom where every now and then I get a hot flush and feel a bit buzzy in my head and my little finger on my right hand will tremble. The trembling lasts for about a minute.
